According to the author Mujica-Sequera (2019), an indexed journal is "a periodical research publication that denotes high quality and is listed in a database, index, repositories, journal directory, and virtual newspaper archives worldwide."

RTED is a refereed publication through an evaluation system by external experts and is found in the main databases, directories, and evaluation system of specialized journals.
